  first regional public bank in\nthe United States in over a hundred years\
 , where our public money will be used for the public\ngood. The PBEB will 
 be capitalized by the municipalities of Oakland\, Berkeley\, Richmond and
 \nthe County of Alameda.Â  The PBEB will also take deposits from these thr
 ee cities and the\nCounty. The depositsÂ will provide money to make partne
 rship loans to community- based small\nbusinesses\, Land Trusts\,Â Co-ops\
 , and other efforts to advance important projects in the East\nBay in the 
 areas of housing and facilitatingÂ home ownership\,Â small businesses/entr
 epreneurship\n\, and clean energy. We will help your local Community Banks
 \, Credit Unions\, and CDFIs by\npartnering with them\, sharing risk andÂ 
 reducing borrowing costsÂ which will allow us all to create\npolicies that
  promote equity in lending.\nYou are invited to join the Friends of the Pu
 blic Bank East Bay and other community groups and\nallies at a Town Hall t
