\nWith each passing day the news can s eem more dire. U.S. Senators are bullied\, handcuffed and then arrested fo r trying to ask the Administration a question about their rampant disregar d for both the Constitution and the truth. The U.S. military has been depl oyed inside the country\, in defiance of the Posse Comitatus Act to suppr ess dissent and free speech\; and to facilitate Gestapo-type raids against working-class communities of color. The GOP continues to steamroll the mo st damaging piece of legislation possible in all of U.S. history\, through Congress. And to top it off\, Israel is doing its damnedest to start Worl d War III.
\nYet\, there’s great news too because we the people are resisting! And when we stand up\, as we are\, the words of Woody Guthrie from the middle of last century ring true once again: “Those Fascists are Bound to Lose!”
\nSo\, on this week’s Town Hall\, we won’t be turnin g a blind eye to the reality we face\, but we will be celebrating the mobi lization of the American people – citizens and residents alike – against f ascism!
