Brandon Lee has been safely airlifted from the Philippines to his hometown, San Francisco. To celebrate his return everyone is invited to City Hall.
Brandon and his mom Louise Lee, who has been by his bedside in the Philippines for 10 weeks, left Manila on Thursday night and travelled on a small air ambulance plane for 24 hours, making stops in Japan, Russia, and Alaska before they landed safely at SFO.
Brandon left San Francisco to be an earth protector with the indigenous Ifugao peasants in the Cordillera Region in the Philippines. On August 6, Brandon was shot at his home in Lagawe, Ifugao, he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was gunned down for his environmental work to protect the land from large scale projects that would destroy the eco-system and livelihoods of the indigenous people.
Brandon is a staunch advocate for human rights and has been a volunteer paralegal with Cordillera Human Rights Alliance. Prior to moving to the Philippines, he was active with both the Filipino and Chinese community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Watch their epic return on KTVU, Channel 2 on the Sunday night 10pm news with Amber Lee.
Please join us in this movement to end all killings and political prosecution of environmentalists, indigenous rights advocates, and human rights defenders in the Philippines.

Although Dean, has been arrested and charged, he is back on the streets and we are uncertain justice will prevail. We demand full transparency and accountability. 4. Monday, 7:00pm – 8:30pm, Reclaiming Judaism From Zionism With Several Contributors
The Green Arcade
1680 Market St.
In this powerful collection of personal narratives, forty Jews of diverse backgrounds tell a wide range of stories about the roads they have traveled from a Zionist world view to activism in solidarity with Palestinians and Israelis striving to build an inclusive society founded on justice, equality, and peaceful coexistence.
Reclaiming Judaism from Zionism will be controversial. Its contributors welcome the long overdue public debate. They want to demolish stereotypes of dissenting Jews as ‘self-hating,’ traitorous, and anti-Semitic. They want to introduce readers to the large and growing community of Jewish activists who have created organizations such as Jewish Voice for Peace, If Not Now, and Open Hillel. They want to strengthen alliances with progressives of all faiths. Above all, they want to nurture models of Jewish identity that replace ethnic exclusiveness with solidarity, Zionism with a Judaism once again nourished by a transcendent ethical vision.
Linda Hess is senior lecturer emerita in the Department of Religious Studies at Stanford University
Sydney Levy, a queer Latinx, is a co-coordinator of the caucus of Jews of Color, Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews in solidarity with Palestine, and a steering committee member of both the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights and the Global Jewish Network in Solidarity with Palestine.
Hilton Obenzinger is a recipient of the American Book Award. His books include This Passover and the Next I Will Never Be in Jerusalem (1980), American Palestine: Melville, Twain, and the Holy Land Mania (1999), and Treyf Pesach (2017). He is currently Associate Director of the Chinese Railroad Workers in North America Project at Stanford University.
Henri Picciotto served on the JVP Board of Directors from 2002 to 2009 and chaired it for much of that period. He has authored or co-authored many books and articles on math education.
Cecilie Surasky has worked as a professional communicator in a variety of social justice movements, and her film work and political analysis has been featured in film festivals and news outlets all over the world.
Jordan Wilson-Dalzell is a queer poet writing about intersections of disability, feminism, Judaism, survivorhood and social justice; her next poetry book, Baptism by Flame, will be about finding a home in Judaism that reflects her values.

bus drivers transport the most precious cargo possible: our children.
For 45 years, we have safely transported the youth of San Francisco,
with no child fatalities.
With the continued rising costs in the Bay Area, we see a region-wide shortage of drivers. There are many creative solutions to address this shortage but compromising the safety of our students is not the answer.
That is exactly what SFUSD is proposing. Their most recent proposal splits the work into three types of driving that can be bid on separately. One type of work is a new category of 10 non-buses with uncertified drivers, while leaving itself an open door to expand this work without limit.
School bus drivers are held to the highest standards of any commercial license in the state of California.
undergo hours of training, background checks, medical exams and drug
screening, and California Highway Patrol certification before we
start. We must retest every five years to continue driving. CHP and
the DMV can pull our certificates for any reason seen to compromise
the safety of children.
School buses are designed to protect the children inside. Steel reinforced sides, rollover protections, anchored seats and the red-light system all prioritize safety.
Using uncertified drivers in vans compromises the safety of the students we transport. The SFUSD proposal also opens the door to undermine the union and pit us against each other as drivers.
Don’t let SFUSD bargain away our children’s safety to cut costs!

6. Wednesday, 7:30am – 8:15am, Speak Out: Hate has no Place in Healthcare – Press Conference & Ceremony
450 Golden Gate Ave
Join us outside the Courthouse on Oct. 30 at 7:30 am and help preserve equal access to care and protect the safety and dignity of patients.
8 am on October 30, a federal judge will hold a hearing on a final
rule change by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
This rule would permit employees to refuse to assist in care based on
their individual religious beliefs, without consideration for the
impact on patient care.
SEIU 1021 members and our allies will hold a press conference and ceremony outside the Courthouse at 7:45 am to oppose this rule and affirm our commitment to accessible care.
Our work is critical to the health, safety, and well-being of our communities. We must speak out against this rule that will destroy healthcare workers “duty to care” and allow religious objections to care for LGBTQI people, women, and others.

8. Wednesday, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, Free Enrique! Show Up at Bond Hearing!
ICE – SF
630 Sansome St.
Enrique N. is a longtime Sacramento resident and father of a five-year-old daughter. he is in immigration custody, far from his family, and facing the threat of deportation and family separation. Please come and support him at his next hearing–October 30, 130 pm to encourage the judge to release him on bond. He has been detained for nearly three months
Enrique was arrested this summer for a DUI, and was due to serve for four days at a Sacramento County Jail (Rio Consumnes Correctional Center in Elk Grove). However, instead of being released to his family and friends after he served his short sentence, he was transferred by local officials directly from the jail to ICE custody.
A DUI should not mean permanent family separation. Jails should not be transferring our community members to ICE for deportation.
NorCal Resist is organizing carpools to his court event. Please message our page or send an email to email@example.com with any questions.

Thursday, October 31
11. Thursday, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, Stolen Land/Hoarded Resources Tour thru SFTech for the Ancestors
1st & Mission Streets
The 2019 Stolen Land/Hoarded Resources Decolonization & Community Reparations Tourtour will go through SF tech – one of the largest industries fueling the violent gentriFUKation /removal and displacement of working class/ very low-income Black, Brown, Indigenous communities out of the whole Bay Area , which often leads to the death and dismantlement of elders and families in SF, Berkeley, Oakland /San Jose/Bay Area- as well as silently complicit in the criminalization , removal, theft and death of unhoused residents of San Francisco…
On this Tour ,which is in honor of the ancestors of these removal efforts like Luis Demetrio Gongora Pat, Papa Bear, Amilcar Perez Lopez and Jessica Williams to name a few.. POOR Magazine poverty/indigenous/disability skolaz will be sharing the medicine of #RadicalRedistribution and the #BankofComeUnityReparations‘ – “Tech Reparations Fund” a liberation fund which was formerly launched on Sept 7th 2019 and humbly asks that the Tech industry give back 10-15% of their outrageous hoarded wealth and resources to establish/build equity of unhoused, housing insecure, indigenous/disabled/elder and families facing eviction, removal, the violence of “sweeps” and/or to help folks stay in their homes, neighborhoods and/or encampments where they face ongoing removal attempts, thefts, poltricksterism, scamlord evictions, predation and poLice terror.
Additionally, Marc Benioff – CEO of Salesforce, announced a 30 million dollar “study” of unhoused peoples when we as unhoused peoples have already been studied, examined, surveyed and swept, so one of the Tour’s asks/tour stops will be the Salesforce Transit center, site of one of the most violent removal/evictions of unhoused, neuro-divergent peoples out of a safe, warm place to sit and dwell- So this tour follows a direct ask to Marc Benioff to radically redistribute to the Tech Reparations Fund so we homeless folks can build a Homefulness #2 to provide safe, land for unhoused peoples to live- here is the open letter to Marc –https://48hills.org/2019/09/an-open-letter-to-the-marc-benioff-about-homelessness/ which we will be distributing on this tour. We will also visit “Square” which met with POOR Magazine poverty skolaz Aunti Frances Moore, Muteado Silencio Lisa Tiny Gray-Garcia and homeless & formerly homeless Youth poverty skolaz from #DeecolonizeAcademy earlier this year, promising to consider The Tech Reparations Fund and ended up doing absolutely nothing for any unhoused people.
Because this is the time when the veil is thin between us living in the present and the ancestors on the other side of the spirit journey, otherwise known as “Halloween” we invite you to join us youth and family poverty skolaz from Deecolonize Academy in “dressing” , wearing a “costume” of a “Zombie Tech GentriFUKer” – Scamlord, Devil-oper, Poltrickster, Kkkolonizer, Hipster, or other icons representing 21st century missionaries and/ or removers, ( or however you would like to dress)

Lives and livelihoods are being lost with increasing frequency to
extreme weather and climate-induced disasters. To be awake to these
times is to experience the unfolding of a never-ending tragedy.
To move forward, we must acknowledge our grief. On the evening of Halloween, we will march together in a funeral procession to commiserate the ongoing death of our planet and the climate-induced loss to come.
As we respect and pay homage to the victims of the climate crisis, we welcome you to dress in funeral attire and bring flowers or a personalized message for the dead.

Protest Suzy Loftus as interim SF District Attorney!
DEMAND POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY
All are invited to join us (Even if it’s for a few minutes) to demand that interim District Attorney Suzy Loftus charge police officers with murder. Stand with ALL families who have lost loved ones to police murders. This is a movement towards police accountability. If we keep accepting the way things are, we’ll, never make any true progress that benefits the people. Since Gascon has been the DA in San Francisco, he has not charged any police officers.

We know that Medicare for All is the only true solution to the health care crisis. But we will only win when a mass movement of people stand up and demand it. 16. Saturday, 2:00pm, Global Day of Resistance for Rojava
Oscar Grant Plaza
14th & Broadway
In response to a call by the Internationalist Commune in Rojava and the Rise Up 4 Rojava platform, we are preparing a mass demonstration in solidarity with the brave fighters of North-East Syria
years ago a revolution began in Rojava that was to radically change
the lives of millions of people. The Kurds liberated themselves from
the dictatorship of the Assad regime and began to organize themselves
in self-governed councils, communes and cooperatives. In particular,
the autonomous organization of women became the driving force behind
the social revolution. Over the course of the struggle against the
Islamic state, a unique multi-ethnic and multi-religious project
developed, which today guarantees the peaceful coexistence of
millions of Kurds, Arabs and Christians. The Democratic Federation of
Northeast Syria is a unique example of the vision of a peaceful and
democratic Middle East and has therefore always been a thorn in the
side of both regional powers and imperialist states.
Today the Turkish Army started its operation and has started bombardment many places are under heavy artillery attacks. Their goal is to wipe out the Democratic Federation. Several civilians have been killed already and thousand of people have started escaping the danger of ethnic cleansing and Turkish fascism. At the same time ISIS is using the Turkish attacks for insurgency.
