Status Coup News • Aug 8, 2024 • DEARBORN Jordan Chariton interviewed Layla Elabed, a Palestinian-American from Dearborn, Michigan—the most populated Arab-American city in Michigan—on Monday, August 5th about the ongoing Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza. Elabed, a leader with the Uncommitted movement, told us VP Harris will “100 percent” lose Michigan if she doesn’t announce a change in policy that ends U.S. support for Israel’s ongoing slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza. Two days later, Elabed broke down in tears while meeting with VP Harris before Harris went on stage for her Detroit, Michigan rally. Elabed told Harris to come to Dearborn to speak with community members who have lost tens of family members in Gaza.
