K Mini Special: V.Kozin reports on findings of Russian CWC experts and status of AFU invasion in Kursk

By Janet Kobren

Copy/pasted below my name are Dr. Vladimir Kozin’s two latest reports, Report # 311. Ukraine and the USA still violate the CWC and the BWC for August 28, covering:

1. Russian Chemical Weapons Convention or CWC experts in Russia have found a laboratory with chemical equipment close to Avdeyevka

2. Evidence of large-scale collection and transportation of biomaterials

and Report # 312. Russia repels of the AFU invasion in the Kursk Region for August 28.

The highlighting is his. Note that Dr. Kozin has provided some amazing and disturbing slides in pdf format titled “PPT slides to # 311.pdf” that I have attached (hopefully this won’t cause the post to bounce). Be sure to take a look. I have removed two embedded images from #312 because of size limitations of listservs.

Dr. Kozin is a Moscow-based Russian military expert and researcher who was publishing reports on an almost daily basis since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation. He had suspended the reports last December but has resumed them on an intermittent basis.

Report # 311. Ukraine and the USA still violate the CWC and the BWC

August 28, 2024

At the end of August 2024 Russian MoD has released new information dealt with violation of the CWC and the BWC by Ukraine and the USA (PPT slides are attached separately to the Report).

1. Russian Chemical Weapons Convention or CWC experts in Russia have found a laboratory with chemical equipment close to Avdeyevka earlier controlled by the AFU but captured by Russian troops. The premises contained a semi-industrial rotary evaporator, a filtrating exhaust system, chemical reactors, carbon dioxide bottles and plenty of reagents. All samples from labs equipment were selected in accordance with the CWC requirements.

Analytical tests revealed the presence of sodium cyanide, sulphuric acid, and trace amounts of cyanide anion in the samples. This clearly indicates that the lab found was producing toxic substances with a capacity of up to 3 kg per day. That is an equivalent to more than 40,000 lethal inhalation doses for humans.

On July,13, 2024, information was received on the AFU 3rd Airmobile Battalion receiving chemical irritant ammunition. Tactical mixtures of irritant agents listed in Schedule 3 of the CWC were also found on the site. In the course of operational activities in August 2024, ready-to-use agents, containing a mixture based on thallium nitrate as potent toxicants, were found in one of the AFU’s caches. They affect the central and peripheral nervous systems and the gastrointestinal tract. Their use for sabotage and criminal purposes is well-documented.

Kiev procured hundreds of tonnes of toxic chemical precursors, including   approximately 500 tonnes of triethanolamine, a compound that can be used to produce a nitrogen mustard agent. More than 400 cases of toxic chemicals used by the Ukrainian side were recorded during the special military operation. These include scheduled compounds such as BZ, prussic acid, chlorine cyanide, and riot-control chemical agents, including those produced by the United States.

The evidence of Ukraine’s violating the CWC has been submitted by the Russian Federation to the OPCW Technical Secretariat. By August 27, there has been no clear response from the organization.

The available information on Ukraine importing chemical agents and protective equipment does not exclude that Kiev is preparing further provocations with toxic chemicals in the special military operation zone.

2. Evidence of large-scale collection and transportation of biomaterials has already been revealed by the Russian MoD. The USA and its allies had managed to export at least 16,000 biosamples out of Ukraine before the Special Military Operation (SMO) started in February 2022. As part of the UP-8 Project alone, blood samples have been taken from 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers. Simultaneously, dangerous pathogens and their vectors (over 10,000 samples) were exported.

According to available information, the USA has started to actively involve Moldova and Romania in biomaterial logistics systems with the use of their own controlled organizations. Such logistics companies like Gamma Logistics and Aerotranscargo, controlled by the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, as well as by the Chisinau medical institutions and Western mediation organizations, provide escort to biological cargoes from Ukraine.

More than two thousand biomaterial samples were officially transported through Moldova between August 2022 and May 2024.

The biological material was transported directly, without the use of one-day companies or intermediary companies. Samples of human blood and tissue were routed from Center for Public Health of Ukraine to Pentagon-related Western research laboratories. Later, they were used in biological warfare research.

The USA is reportedly continuing its efforts to develop bioagents capable of selectively targeting different ethnic groups.

Report # 312. Russia repels of the AFU invasion in the Kursk Region

August 29, 2024

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue search operations in forestry areas in the Kursk Region (Oblast in Russian) to locate and eliminate the AFU sabotage groups attempting to get into the historic Russian territory that has never belonged to Ukraine. Massive fire has been used against the adjacent Ukraine territory named as the Sumy Region to block and wipe out ammo and fuel deliveries from the rest of Ukraine to the besieged Ukrainian troops.

Since the beginning of the AFU invasion into the Kursk Region (August 6, 2024), the Ukrainian troops have lost up to:

  • 7,450 troops or 62 percent of the total estimated invasion force,
  • 74 tanks,
  • 36 infantry fighting vehicles,
  • 64 armored personnel carriers,
  • 486 armored fighting vehicles,
  • 227 motor vehicles,
  • 52 artillery guns,
  • 15 MLRS launchers, including four of HIMARS MLRS and one other MLRS,
  • five SAM launchers,
  • 10 ECM stations,
  • two counter-battery radars,
  • one AAD radar,
  • five engineering vehicles as well as two road obstacles’ clearing vehicles and one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle.

The operation to neutralize the AFU units is in progress.
