He has a team that includes staff who care for the injured and healing dogs and cats (and even a fox) at their rescue facility called “The Great House” near Valencia, Spain where the animals reside until they are adopted by people all over the world. Report # 326. RUSSIA CONDUCTED MASSIVE SOA EXERCISE
October 30, 2024
On October 29, 2024 Vladimir Putin, Russian President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces supervised a training exercise that involved national Strategic Offensive Arms or SOA deployed on the ground, at sea and in the air – widely known as strategic nuclear triad. He operated the pre-planned drill from the Presidential Situation Center. The practical launches were directed from the National Defence Control Centre of the Russian Federation.
During the drill, practical launches of both ballistic and cruise missiles were performed.
A Yars ICBM was launched from the Plesetsk testing ground, targeting the Kura training area located in Kamchatka. Sineva and Bulava SLBMs were launched from the nuclear-powered SSBN Novomoskovsk in the Barents Sea and from the nuclear-powered submarine Knyaz Oleg in the Sea of Okhotsk. Additionally, Tu-95MC heavy strategic bombers participated in the training, firing air-launched cruise missiles.
The level of preparedness of military command structures as well as managing the troops and forces under their command were assessed.
The tasks set for the training of the nuclear strategic deterrence forces were fully accomplished, with all missiles successfully hitting their designated targets, thus confirming their technical characteristics.
The President underlined that Russia reaffirms its principled stance that the use of nuclear weapons is “an extreme and exceptional measure” aimed at ensuring state security. He added that Russia’s strategic nuclear triad remains a solid pillar of the country’s sovereignty and security, enables it to achieve strategic deterrence objectives and uphold nuclear parity and the balance of power globally, which are key factors underpinning global stability.
Putin also observed that: “In light of escalating geopolitical tensions and the emergence of new external threats and risks, it is imperative for us to have modern strategic forces that are in a state of constant combat readiness. We shall continue to enhance all their components, as we possess the necessary resources to do so. I must stress that we do not intend to be drawn into a new arms race; however, we will maintain our nuclear forces at a level of necessary sufficiency.”
In his words, in 2024, the modernization of the arsenal of the strategic deterrence forces has reached approximately 94 percent.
In line with the State Armament Program, Russia will progressively transition its strategic missile forces to new silo-launched and mobile missile systems, which, compared to previous generations, “are more precise, need less pre-launch time, and what’s crucial, have advanced capability to penetrate missile defense systems,” the President underscored.
Furthermore, he added, the commissioning of the latest SSBNs into the Navy continues, alongside the modernization of long-range heavy strategic bombers.
