Online: “Not Another Death: A Community Vigil Honoring those lost in ICE Detention” (06-12-25) – YouTube

The Interfaith community and friends will be holding a community vigil to pay tribute to Mr. Ahn, Mr. Nguyen, and others who died while in ICE custody.

There have been numerous deaths in ICE facilities. A recent report from the ACLU, Physicians for Human Rights, and American Oversight investigated 52 deaths in ICE custody from 2017 to 2021. Independent medical experts determined that 95% of these fatalities were preventable or likely preventable had adequate medical care been administered. Congressional mandates in the DHS Appropriations Bill (2018) require ICE to publicly disclose all reports concerning in-custody deaths within 90 days. Each death of a detained individual, starting from Fiscal Year 2018, is documented at https://www.ice.gov/detain/detainee-death-reporting.

The five-year anniversary of Mr. Ahn’s death comes just one month after the California Department of Justice releases a damning investigative report on ICE detention centers in the state, finding that the staff and conditions at facilities–including Mesa Verde where Mr. Ahn was detained–exacerbate our community members’ mental health and fail to provide even basic and minimal care. Thursday’s vigil also honors Ngoc Nguyen, a 58-year-old Vietnamese refugee with dementia and former California resident. Mr. Nguyen died in ICE custody last month, after ICE disappearhim and fails to provide medical care.

As ICE continues to conduct unjust raids and detain members of our community, there is a potential threat for more deaths. As community, we refuse to stay silent and will raise our voices against this cruelty, we also demand the following:

·       Stop the Raids

·       Urging our elected officials to hold ICE accountable

·       Uplift the voices and dignity of those who survived ICE detention

·       Advocate for the permanent closure of all ICE facilities

·       Oppose any attempts to expand ICE detention in Dublin and beyond

·       End the detention of our community

·       Halt the deportation of community members without due process

·       Affirm sanctuary and uphold the human dignity of immigrant communities

·       Reclaim this land for healing, community benefit, and liberation

Host: Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity

3. Thursday, 12Noon – 1:00pm (PT); 3:00pm – 4:00pm (ET)Mask Off Maersk Power Hour: Disrupting the Weapons Pipeline

Zoom: Webinar Registration – Zoom

Join us for a power hour to delve into the findings of the new report, “Maersk’s Central Role in Manufacturing and Maintaining F-35 Fighter Jets for Israel.” The report uncovers how global shipping giant Maersk has been key to transporting F-35 components—including the wings—from manufacturers to Lockheed Martin’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas, and ultimately to Israel.

These jets have played a central role in Israel’s military operations in Gaza, raising urgent questions about corporate complicity in alleged war crimes.

Hear directly from organizers with BDS Morocco, who have mobilized against Maersk’s role in the genocide. Learn how communities are taking action and how you can join the global push to hold corporations accountable for their role in enabling violence. Then take action with us in real time.

12 Noon  sharp march to Civic Center Plaza via Market St. for a post-march rally

March will go via Market St.

Indivisible SF and 50501SF are hosting a No Kings mass mobilization on June 14, 2025.

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.

On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets nationwide. We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
