CalCare - California Guaranteed Health Care for All

Join our prep meeting on Monday, Sept 20 to make your voice heard on the future of health care in California. →

At the end of 2019, Governor Newsom established the Healthy California for All Commission where he appointed experts to develop a plan for the future of health care in California.

The outcome of this Commission will have a large impact on the future of health care in our state and our ability to pass AB 1400 – the single-payer bill, also known as CalCare.

So, we’ve recruited and prepared hundreds of our supporters, like you, to attend the Commission meetings throughout the year to give public comments and make your voices heard. The next meeting is coming up, and it’s one of the most important yet.

The Commission is in its final stages before it wraps up early next year, so time is of the essence to make our case for single-payer health care.

The next Commission meeting is on Thursday, September 23rd and we’re hosting a prep meeting on Monday, September 20th at 5pm to go over everything you need to know to give a public comment. Will you join us for the prep meeting and give a public comment to the Commission?

RSVP NOW »

The Commission will submit their final report to the Governor and the Legislature in early 2022 – and they’re collecting public comments before they do. We need to make sure that this report includes the facts about single-payer health care and why AB 1400 is the best solution to guarantee health care for all Californians.

Our lead regulatory policy specialist and Commissioner, Carmen Comsti, will be on the call during the prep meeting to answer any questions and she’ll also be presenting at the Commission meeting.

If this sounds scary, don’t worry. Any person in California can submit a comment, and we’ll help you learn how to do it. Please RSVP now to the prep meeting, and help us fight for transformational health care in California.
