Tomorrow we’re gathering at 2:00 PM at SFPD HQ to hold space for ♥ Cesar Vargas ♥ and be in community as we collectively process the ongoing trauma of police violence. We will be streaming the audio from the SFPD town hall to address the police killing of Cesar Vargas.

We don’t need to see the footage to know that this was an unjustifiable act of violence. All murder at the hands of police is an indictment of the failures of our “justice” system.
Tomorrow, SFPD will try to wipe their hands clean in the name of “transparency” and “accountability”. Unless Chief Scott announces that the police department will be abolished, the town hall will not bring us any closer to justice. Instead, this event only reinforces the harm SFPD has caused to our community by doubling down on the false narrative that Black and brown lives are an acceptable price to pay for public safety.
Warning: SFPD will show body cam footage of the murder of Cesar Vargas. We will cut audio during that part of the town hall and people can listen on their own devices if they want.
