Our film for this coming Friday has the lengthy title of Occupation 101:  Voices of the Silenced Majority.  It’s about the lives of Palestinians under Israeli occupation.  Israel – Palestine was also the subject of the church’s UN Sunday event that took place last Sunday, Oct. 14.

We don’t have an official  speaker for this film yet but have enough information for starting a conversation.   Please bring your own knowledge and help us out or just listen and learn.

Thank you.

Unitarian Universalist Center
1187 Franklin Street @ Geary Blvd.

Occupation 101 attempts to give the viewer an objective view of what Occupation means and makes Palestine the main focus of study.   The film begins with historical roots giving us a background like no other documentary on this subject and continues the chronological narrative into present street-life situations dealing with massive interruptive walls on a daily basis.

It was  directed by Sufyan and Abdallah Omeish, finished in 2006 and narrated by Alison Weir, the founder of If Americans Knew.   It also features an impressive list of scholars, peace activists, journalists, and religious leaders and others seldom heard by Americans.  87 mins.

Free Admission (donations appreciated).
As usual, popcorn and other refreshments will also be available.
