The belief that slavery ended with the Emancipation Proclamation is challenged in the documentary Slavery By Another Name directed by Sam Pollard.  The film recounts how in the years following the Civil War a new form of forced labor emerged in the American South. Tolerated by both the South and the North thousands of African –Americans were subjected to another brutal system of bondage that lasted well into the 20th century.

Using archival photographs and dramatic re-enactments filmed on location in Alabama and Georgia Slavery By Another Name tells the forgotten stories of both victims and perpetrators of neo-slavery and includes interviews with their descendants.

Free Admission (donations appreciated).
