White Government UnionWilmington on Fire by director Chris Everett is a documentary that chronicles the Wilmington Massacre of 1898.  It’s a little-known, bloody attack on the African-American community of Wilmington, North Carolina by a heavily armed white mob with the support of the North Carolina Democratic Party.  This event was the spring board for the White Supremacy and Jim Crow movement throughout the state of North Carolina and the American South.

Featuring compelling interviews with descendants of those who lived through the massacre, the film sheds light on a story that must be told and not forgotten.  See the attached flyer.

After the screening there will be a Q&A discussion.
