The American people can’t afford to wait. An official impeachment investigation has immense benefits whether or not the president is ultimately impeached or convicted by the Senate. The data shows us that it’s not just morally necessary to move forward with impeachment proceedings, but also electorally safe. Even in purple districts where Republican defections did make a difference in the 2018 midterms, “impeachment would just as likely solidify the Democratic advantage.”(1) That’s why we’re raising our voices to tell Speaker Nancy Pelosi that it is long past time for Congress to defend our communities. It’s time to impeach.
