Your countless emails and phone calls to legislators made a difference. Thanks to the passion and persistence of supporters and our volunteer-run group, we successfully beat Wall Street lobbyists in the California State Senate and Assembly. AB 857 has finally made it to Governor Newsom’s desk. The Governor has until October 13 to sign the bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is VITAL that California residents take action and urge the Governor to sign AB 857 public banks into law. By creating public banks, California taxpayers can trust that our local tax dollars are deposited into an insured financial institution that measures its return on investment not only by profits, but also by its success in supporting local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re so close.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you do three final action items today to ensure public banking becomes law in California?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
