DEMAND NO CUTS to Our City Our Home. Honor the will of the voters and NOT A PENNY LESS FOR HOMELESSNESS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Homelessness has gone up 30% in San Francisco. Everyday there’s 1000 people on our single adult shelter wait and yet the measure we passed together in 2018 to double city funding for homelessness is held up in court. This year, the City is re-working the Gross Receipt Tax and through this restructure which will go on the ballot in November, Prop C funding becomes vulnerable and exposed to opponents who may wish to supplant the money for other causes or not honor the $300 million revenue and spending plan as laid out in the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need to make sure that Mayor Breed signs a pledge not to undermine, gut or cut the initiative in that process.  Prop C Our City Our Home is based on the gross receipts tax, and with a new gross receipts heading to ballot in November we need Mayor Breed to commit to protecting the measure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ATTENTION! We will be rescheduling our Not a Penny Less for Homelessness Rally which was supposed to take place tomorrow, because of the DPH notice of cancelling gatherings with over 50 people for COVID-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to be in accordance with prevention efforts set forth by DPH, but want to be clear this does not change the fact the Mayor has not pledged her support to protect Prop C in the upcoming gross receipt tax negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will thus be rescheduling our rally until Wednesday March 25th, at 12 noon on the steps of City Hall!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
