   NOTE: <\/strong><\/em>On January 7, 2022, a federal judge issued an injunction that should postpone this execution by allowing Reeves to wait until Alabama’s gas chamber is ready and allowed to be used. This order<\/a> is based on the fact that Reeves is too intellectually disabled to have signed up to be gassed rather than injected when prison guards passed out the form.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reeves was 18 years old at the time of the crime. A neuropsychologist determined that he \u201chas significant deficits in multiple areas of adaptive functioning\u201d and because those deficits appeared before age 18, it was concluded that Reeves is intellectually disabled. This information was never presented at trial.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Grant <\/strong>is scheduled to be executed January 27, 2022, in Oklahoma<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Grant\u2019s mental illness and congenital and acquired brain damage was so severe that it took five years for Mr. Grant to be stabilized where he could somewhat assist his attorneys in his defense. There was no assurance Mr. Grant was even competent to be put on trial, but he was in 2005 and sentenced to death.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury who sentenced Mr. Grant to death received limited evidence of his severe, documented mental illness. The jury never saw pictures of Mr. Grant\u2019s visible brain damage or had an expert explain the impact this damage and his undisputed mental illness had on his crime and behavior.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Cooper: <\/strong>Documentary Film teaser- The People VS Kevin Cooper: <\/strong>Carlson Films<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Cooper has been on death row since 1985 for the murder of four people in San Bernardino County in June 1983. Prosecutors said Cooper, who had escaped from a minimum-security prison and had been hiding out near the scene of the murder, killed Douglas and Peggy Ryen, their 10-year-old daughter, Jessica, and 10-year-old Chris Hughes, a friend who was spending the night at the Ryen\u2019s. The lone survivor of the attack, eight-year-old Josh Ryen, was severely injured but survived.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For over 36 years, Cooper has insisted he is innocent, and there are serious questions about evidence that was missing, tampered with, destroyed, possibly planted, or hidden from the defense. There were multiple murder weapons, raising questions about how one man could use all of them, killing four people and seriously wounding one, in the amount of time the coroner estimated the murders took place.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teaser alone gives a good overview of the case, and helps explain why so many believe Cooper was wrongfully convicted<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actions will be held at Israeli consulates, embassies, South African consulates, embassies, and the Israeli bank Mizrahi Tefahot which is owned by the Wertheim family and is the third largest bank in Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clover is the largest dairy company in South Africa with 5,000 workers. In 2019, the ANC government allowed it to be taken over by the Israeli billionaire Wertheim family. They promised to protect jobs until October 2022, but they are now laying off thousands and shutting plants in rural communities with plans to import Israeli product. The company also imposed a 20% cut in wages.

The South African Federation of Trade Unions, General Industrial Union of South Africa, and Food and Allied Workers union are also demanding that the company be nationalized and that it be run under workers control. They are also supporting an international day of solidarity action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wertheim family also control the Coca-Cola franchise through the Central Bottling Company, CBC.

They support and fund Israeli settlements on Palestinian land and the Israeli Defense Forces. They also have a Coca-Cola plant on Palestinian land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 18th, in an escalation of the attacks on striking workers by Clover bosses, rubber bullets were fired at workers injuring them at the Clover Clayville plant in Johannesburg. The use of rubber bullets by Clover\u2019s private security forces is linked up directly with the treatment of Palestinians except they use bullets to terrorize and murder Palestinians.

Workers\u2019 demands are clear:

1. The unconditional re-instatement of all retrenched workers

2. The complete scrapping of all austerity measures including the 20% salary cuts

3. The disinvestment of Milco SA\/CBC

4. Nationalization of Clover SA and its complete trans- formation into a co-operative run by workers and com- munities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
