{"id":22664,"date":"2022-06-05T12:33:18","date_gmt":"2022-06-05T19:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/occupysf.net\/?p=22664"},"modified":"2022-06-05T12:33:19","modified_gmt":"2022-06-05T19:33:19","slug":"school-practices-drill-for-when-theres-not-an-active-shooter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/occupysf.net\/index.php\/2022\/06\/05\/school-practices-drill-for-when-theres-not-an-active-shooter\/","title":{"rendered":"SCHOOL PRACTICES DRILL FOR WHEN THERE\u2019S NOT AN ACTIVE SHOOTER"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theonion.com\/school-practices-drill-for-when-there-s-not-an-active-s-1848987747\">Friday 9:45AM<\/a><a>&nbsp;(theonion.com)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bathtubbulletin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Onion17.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41970\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>LARGO, OH\u2014In an effort to keep students and faculty ready should the situation ever arise, a local middle school was reportedly practicing the drill Thursday for what to do when there\u2019s not an active shooter. \u201cAttention teachers and students: For the next 10 minutes, we will proceed as if there is not a school shooter on the premises; all students will emerge from hiding under their desks, and all teachers will immediately stop barricading the door and begin writing lessons on the whiteboard,\u201d Lincoln Middle School\u2019s principal said over the intercom, interrupting the regular daily flow of a mass shooter stalking the school to initiate the drill, so the school would be prepared in the event it ever experienced a day in which that didn\u2019t occur. \u201cFor the next five minutes, we will no longer be on lockdown, and all students will be expected to go to their lockers and chat with their friends. Teachers will turn on the lights in the classroom and begin teaching students rather than tending to any wounded children.
