A generation ago the journalist\u2019s mothers escaped two different catastrophes \u2014 the Holocaust in 1939-45 and the violent expulsion of Palestinians in 1948. We hear remarkable connections in the stories. Then their talk reaches a most unexpected question: Is coexistence possible?
