The Hague Group\u2014a coalition of Global South nations launched earlier this year by Progressive International to hold Israel<\/a> legally accountable for its annihilation of Gaza\u2014on Wednesday released a joint action plan aimed at bringing an end to the 21-month U.S.-backed genocidal assault on the Palestinian enclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the second and final day of an emergency summit<\/a> in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia\u2014which co-chairs the Hague Group with South Africa\u2014the coalition announced<\/a> a six-point plan<\/a> for “coordinated diplomatic, legal, and economic measures to restrain Israel’s assault on the occupied Palestinian territories and defend international law at large.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hague Group executive secretary <\/strong>Varsha Gandikota-Nellutla said in a statement that “this conference marks a turning point\u2014not just for Palestine<\/a>, but for the future of the international system.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For decades, states\u2014particularly in the Global South\u2014have borne the cost of a broken international system,” Gandikota-Nellutla added. “In Bogot\u00e1, they came together to reclaim it\u2014not with words, but with actions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twelve summit participants\u2014Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Indonesia, Iraq, Libya, Malaysia, Namibia, Nicaragua, Oman, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and South Africa\u2014committed to the following measures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
