On a per-voter basis, we need to do that TIMES FIVE. That’s because voter turnout is so much higher in San Francisco primaries than in New York. The good news: We’ve got time! Ten months ‘till the primary, and then another five until the general election.

No one ever said changing something as entrenched as our national Democratic Party leadership was going to be easy. But without you all it’s impossible! If you want change, we’re going to need at least a couple hours each month from all of you. (And we know some of you will jump in with even more!)

Here’s more good news: Canvassing in San Francisco is fun! As someone who’s knocked doors on campaigns in at least two dozen cities, I can tell you that SF is the best. It’s dense, a lot of people are home, and people are actually happy to greet you. I can honestly say, I’ve never gotten a bad vibe on an SF door!

Plus, when you come down to the office this Saturday — or any Saturday between now and the election — you’re going to meet some really cool people, campaign staff, and, at least this Saturday, Saikat!

I promise you: door knocking isn’t a gimmick. It’s not for show. We’ve done our research, and we know that Saikat will win if we can do these two things:

1) Convince new voters (young people, recently registered, and recent citizens) to vote in the primary.

2) Tell “automatic” Pelosi voters that there is a serious candidate on the ballot this cycle — with impressive experience in both Congress (as AOC’s first Chief of Staff) and business (as the first product engineer at Stripe) — and that they don’t need to give Nancy Pelosi a 41st and 42nd year in Congress just out of habit!

We’ve been on the doors for a few weeks already, and we’ve found that tons of people are truly ready for change — and genuinely excited to hear about Saikat. Now we just need to scale up: canvassing, tabling at farmers markets, attending neighborhood fairs and festivals — being everywhere we can reach voters. If we do that, we will win.

Please join us this Saturday at 11:00AM, 800 Irving St!

Zack Exley
Campaign Manager
Saikat for Congress

PS: Yes, our emails have a new look!
