This was not an isolated incident but the culmination of a large, aggressive, multi-agency operation in Chicago\u2019s predominantly Hispanic neighborhood of Little Village. After receiving reports of initial arrests on the main street, our rapid-response team followed ICE to a local shopping complex. The situation quickly escalated as agents from ICE and Border Patrol, supported by CPD, began using militarized tactics against community members. As seen in the video, agents deployed smoke bombs into the crowd and aimed weapons indiscriminately at locals and our team. All the while, low-flying helicopters circled overhead, adding to the chaos and intimidation. We documented masked agents pulling individuals out of the crowd and forcing them into unmarked vehicles, creating an atmosphere of fear and confusion. This is precisely why Operation Liberty exists.
