As you may have seen on the news this week, the first recall against SF DA Chesa Boudin did NOT receive enough signatures to make it on the ballot.
However, we’re not done. There is another recall against Boudin and this one is VERY likely to get on an upcoming ballot (tbd).
Here’s the background: the 2nd recall is funded by republicans and already has $700k. While it’s being fronted by two “democratic” women and they’re positioning it as a “democratic effort” — it’s republican money. And these two women are pissed off that their candidate (Susie Loftus) lost to Chesa in 2019.
Because of this positioning, they almost received the necessary 51k signatures (which they have until October to get). How have they gotten so many signatures so quickly? Well because they have so much money, they have hired a company who pays per signature — taking advantage of unemployed individuals who you see on the street asking for signatures (who often don’t know what they’re even asking for).
What can we do to kill this recall?
- Donate to Chesa’s anti-recall campaign
- Volunteer, reach out to volunteer@standwithchesa.com
- Educate Others, there is SO much misinformation out there on Chesa, crime in SF, etc. — we need to debunk these myths
