I’m a public school teacher and proud Democrat running in the Special Election for Florida’s 6th Congressional District—the first major election of 2025. Here’s the bottom line: I’m a proud teacher who has always encouraged my students to seek knowledge anywhere they can find it. Meanwhile, my MAGA Extremist opponent is a proponent of Florida’s DISASTROUS book bans. The difference couldn’t be more stark. I’ve spent my career in classrooms, working with at-risk youth and fighting to give every student a chance to succeed, no matter their background. Is there any way to donate to Josh Weil’s Florida campaign without doing it through Act Blue? I donated frequently during the last catastrophic election cycle but noticed that every donation elicited a heavier bombardment of new appeals for donations from other Democratic candidates. This a pretty seriously short-sighted way to raise money. I have dozens of friends who are blue voters who, for the reason I have outlined, have vowed never to donate again via Act Blue. I will never donate again unless there is a way to donate directly to a candidate.
