Some thoughts from our first-ever town hall

This week, nearly 200 of our neighbors packed into a community hall in the Richmond for our first-ever neighborhood town hall.

It was standing room only, even after we had to email people asking them not to come unless they lived in the neighborhood! I left feeling more certain than ever that San Francisco — and our nation — is ready for change. People are hungry for leaders who will stand up to authoritarianism and oligarchy, whether it’s MAGA Republicans or pro-corporate Democrats.  They want representatives who will defend the right to protest and speak out against the genocide in Gaza. And they want a Democratic Party that leads with principle and imagination again. That’s what this campaign is about. I’m not taking a dime of corporate or lobbyist money, so if I have the honor of representing this city, I’ll only be accountable to the people of San Francisco. This was just the beginning. We’re taking this campaign to every neighborhood: next up are Bernal Heights, Potrero Hill, and Glen Park. If you live nearby, I’d love to see you there. Special Events What to Expect?
