NEIGHBORHOOD HEALING VIGIL

With the family and community

Of

 RYANT BLUFORD ♥

Friday, August 4

6:00pm – 8:00pm

Fairfax & Catalina Street
SF

Tomorrow evening the family and community of Ryant Bluford will gather for a neighborhood healing vigil.

Ryant Bluford, a beloved 41-year-old father, was shot and killed by SFPD last week in a historically Black neighborhood as horrified neighbors pleaded with police not to murder him. A witness reported kids saw the shooting and bullets went into the apartment building nearby.

We stand with the families of Mario Woods, Kenneth Harding Jr., Ryant Bluford, and all fighting the violent police presence in an increasingly gentrified Bayview/Hunters Point community. We also stand with the neighbors who witnessed the traumatizing killing of a Black man in broad daylight.

One Response to SFPD’s Town Hall

  1. San Franciscan says:

This article is an absolute joke. The police did absolutely nothing wrong in this instance. Ryant Bluford was shot and killed for one reason: his own actions. Instead of “a beloved 41-year-old father”, why not mention he’s a convicted rapist?Instead of editorializing that he was shot as “horrified neighbors pleaded with police not to murder him”, why not mention the fact that the police didn’t shoot until he pointed a gun at them point-blank? The admin who wrote this is a disgrace. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
