San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin<\/strong> joined our weekly Monday Call<\/a> and pledged to \u201ckeep doing the work I promised to do\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cfight the billionaire class\u201d<\/strong> who are working to subvert his election by removing him from office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chesa thanked Our Revolution: San Francisco Berniecrats<\/strong> for powering his surprise win in 2019. Since his election, he\u2019s shown the difference a people\u2019s champion can make to create a more equitable and humane justice system by eliminating cash bail, refusing to assist ICE in immigration raids, and reducing the number of juveniles<\/strong> in detention centers by 75%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChildren do not belong in cages. Not at the border. Not in San Francisco. And not on my watch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s also prosecuted bad cops<\/strong> and taken on the CEOs of \u201cgig economy\u201d companies<\/strong> that illegally misclassify employees as \u201cindependent contractors\u201d to avoid paying a minimum wage, offering health care, or even providing PPE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not surprisingly, his track record has become a target for the power-protecting right<\/strong>, including Fox News<\/a>, which reported on our Monday Call. Chesa has faced two recall efforts – the first, led by Republicans, failed. Now misguided corporate Democrats are taking their shot.
