{"id":21699,"date":"2022-03-10T12:55:49","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T20:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/occupysf.net\/?p=21699"},"modified":"2022-03-10T12:55:51","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T20:55:51","slug":"move-to-amends-proposed-28th-amendment-to-the-constitution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/occupysf.net\/index.php\/2022\/03\/10\/move-to-amends-proposed-28th-amendment-to-the-constitution\/","title":{"rendered":"Move to Amend&#8217;s Proposed 28th Amendment to the Constitution"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>House Joint Resolution 48 introduced May 20, 2021<br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-joint-resolution\/48\/cosponsors?r=2&amp;s=4&amp;searchResultViewType=expanded\" target=\"_blank\">Click here for most up to date list of co-sponsors<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>(Mouse over the links below for background information and explanation for why we have chosen these particular terms or language)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Section 1.&nbsp;[Artificial Entities Such as Corporations Do Not Have Constitutional Rights]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rights protected by the Constitution of the United States are the rights of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/amendment#\">natural persons<\/a>&nbsp;only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/amendment#\">Artificial entities<\/a>&nbsp;established by the laws of any State, the United States, or any foreign state shall have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/amendment#\">no rights<\/a>&nbsp;under this Constitution and are subject to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/amendment#\">regulation<\/a>&nbsp;by the People, through Federal, State, or local law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/amendment#\">privileges<\/a>&nbsp;of artificial entities shall be determined by the People, through Federal, State, or local law, and shall not be construed to be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">inherent or inalienable<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Section 2.&nbsp;[Money is Not Free Speech]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Federal, State, and local government&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">shall<\/a>&nbsp;regulate, limit, or prohibit contributions and expenditures, including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">a candidate&#8217;s own contributions and expenditures<\/a>, to ensure that all citizens, regardless of their economic status, have access to the political process, and that no person gains, as a result of their money, substantially more access or ability to influence in any way the election of any candidate for public office or any&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">ballot measure<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Federal, State, and local government&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">shall require<\/a>&nbsp;that any permissible contributions and expenditures be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">publicly disclosed<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judiciary&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">shall not<\/a>&nbsp;construe the spending of money to influence elections to be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/movetoamend.org\/wethepeopleamendment#\">speech under the First Amendment<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Section 3.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nothing in this amendment shall be construed to abridge freedom of the press.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>House Joint Resolution 48 introduced May 20, 2021Click here for most up to date list of co-sponsors (Mouse over the links below for background information and explanation for why we have chosen these particular terms or language) Section 1.&nbsp;[Artificial Entities Such as Corporations Do Not Have Constitutional Rights] The rights&#8230;
