He is a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Army\">U.S. Army<\/a>&nbsp;veteran who served in Iraq as a Specialist.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;His duties in Iraq included ground surveillance, home raids and the interrogation of prisoners. According to Prysner, these experiences led him to take an anti-war stance.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-Tehran-3\">[3]<\/a><\/sup><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-Salem-4\">[4]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>He is the co-founder of March Forward, an organization of active-duty members of the U.S. military and veterans of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Iraq_War\">Iraq<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/War_in_Afghanistan_(2001%E2%80%93present)\">Afghanistan<\/a>&nbsp;wars that encourages current active-duty service personnel to resist deployment.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-Mike_Prysner-5\">[5]<\/a><\/sup><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-6\">[6]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March 2008, Prysner was a member of a panel discussing the topic&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Winter_Soldier:_Iraq_%26_Afghanistan\">Winter Soldier: Iraq &amp; Afghanistan<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maryland\">Maryland<\/a>.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-:0-7\">[7]<\/a><\/sup><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Prysner#cite_note-8\">[8]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;He spoke about his time in Iraq as a soldier and his personal views about the two wars.
