The mall will be branded as Livat, a Swedish word that translates as “lively happening” or “bustling gathering.”

So far the company has been guarded about other tenants at the 250,000-square-foot shopping center, which has been vacant since it was completed in 2016. The IKEA is slated to occupy 87,000 square feet, and 47,000 square feet of the building is zoned for office space.

“Alongside an IKEA store, we plan to bring innovative concepts in food, entertainment, wellness and flexible office spaces that will make our new meeting place vibrant, fresh and appealing for the many visitors and the community,” the company said.

More for you

S.F. land values are sinking to rock bottom prices, but there could be a silver lining

Map shows in detail S.F. areas where homelessness has increased or decreased the most

The San Francisco Business Times recently reported that the fifth floor would be occupied by Industrious, a New York co-working company, and that the miniature golf chain the Puttery had inquired with the city’s zoning administrator whether that would be an allowable use.
