Spiritual author and progressive activist Marianne Williamson <\/a>said on Saturday that she will make an \u201cimportant announcement\u201d on March 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williamson, who previously ran an insurgent presidential campaign in 2020, hinted at a potential challenge to President Biden <\/a>in Saturday\u2019s announcement, noting that she has been exploring the possibility of running for the Democratic nomination in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs America gears up for the 2024 presidential election, I\u2019m preparing an important announcement on March 4th in Washington DC,\u201d Williamson said in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am motivated by: a commitment to the tenets of liberty espoused in the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address; a realization of the Democratic Party\u2019s shift away from the party of President Franklin Roosevelt; and the economic injustices endured by millions of Americans due to the influence of corporate money on our political system,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williamson previously hinted in an interview with The Hill<\/a> last April that she wasn\u2019t opposed to launching another bid for the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview last week with Politico<\/a>, Williamson suggested she was disappointed that Biden appears to be running \u201con a message that the economy is getting stronger.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think that speaks to the disconnect between the analysis of party elites versus the struggle of everyday Americans,\u201d Williamson told Politico\u2019s West Wing Playbook team. \u201cWe\u2019re being asked to limit our political imaginations \u2014 to just accept the low unemployment and low inflation rate, that that is sort of the best that we can get. But that is a hollow victory.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
