Biden clearly prefers the modus operandi of the old boys club in Washington vs. taking a stand for the policies he claims to support. And so, under the guise of \u201cmoderation,\u201d <strong>Biden has allowed Republicans to extract a budget \u201cdeal\u201d full of punitive and damaging measures<\/strong> that will only harm poor and working-class people, and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lapses in leadership like this exemplify why we at RootsAction are encouraging Biden to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/default.salsalabs.org\/T1b915d9c-513d-4d4d-9121-e04d62feae97\/34a8ddcd-7013-4071-98d6-778512b440ba\"><strong>\u201cStep Aside, Joe.\u201d<\/strong><\/a> As Biden compromises with extremist Republicans, he turns his back on working people, alienates members of his own party, and makes the case for his reelection even flimsier. <strong>For the Democrats to have a good chance of defeating a far-right Republican candidate for the presidency next year, it is critical that they field a better candidate than Joe Biden.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why we\u2019re asking you to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/default.salsalabs.org\/Td1ee79cf-57bc-44fd-ace6-f495c72ec98f\/34a8ddcd-7013-4071-98d6-778512b440ba\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>add your name to our petition calling for Joe Biden to step aside and allow for an open Democratic primary process in 2024<\/strong><\/a>.
