Aug.13, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The store\u2019s Chairman, John Chacas took a full page in Sunday\u2019s San Francisco Chronicle to write an open letter to Governor Gavin Newsom, Mayor London Breed, and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors urging them to address the city\u2019s street condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/beyondchron.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Gumps-Letter-210x425.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49317\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A few blocks away, at the corner of Post and Hyde, I saw a woman attempting to jump out of an apartment building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/beyondchron.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Fire-Response2-572x257.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49316\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/beyondchron.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Fire-Response-572x257.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49315\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If that\u2019s not sad enough, I heard from Union Square merchants that there may not be a Christmas tree in Union Square this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Union Square will be blocked off during&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2023\/08\/03\/sfstandard-com-news-apec-conference-in-san-francisco-target-attack-federal-government-says\/\">APEC Summit<\/a>&nbsp;in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, the truck which will carry Union Square\u2019s Christmas tree won\u2019t be able to drive through Union Square.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by\u00a0Sebastian\u00a0on\u00a0August 14, 2023 (BeyondChron.org) Gump&#8217;s. 250 Post.
