This is entirely the result of the corruption of the Republican members of Congress, who are bribed by the illness-profit system corporations to maintain this criminally inferior system.&nbsp; You can stop this by voting for Democrats. The Democrats have many flaws, but they do support fostering wellbeing. Credit: Erika Nizborski<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For 58 years, Medicare and Medicaid have provided life-saving and life-sustaining care for millions of Americans, but they are rapidly being weakened by politicians who insist on inviting corporations to oversee their implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health insurance companies are creeping into Medicare and Medicaid via so-called \u201cmanaged care.\u201d Often proposed as a cost-saving measure, managed care is when patients agree to visit only certain doctors and hospitals, and the cost of treatment is monitored by a managing company.
