It was nowhere near the size of Saturday\u2019s downtown SF March that drew thousands, but a couple dozen Code Pink protesters demonstrated outside Nancy Pelosi\u2019s house Sunday calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not a particularly new thing for the\u00a0rabble-rousers of Code Pink<\/a>\u00a0to plan a protest outside the Pac Heights home of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The Code Pinkers\u00a0camped outside her house in 2007<\/a>\u00a0to protest the Iraq War (even though Pelosi voted against the invasion), and shortly after October\u2019s bloody escalation of Israel-Hamas conflict, a\u00a0Code Pink ceasefire protest<\/a>\u00a0outside Pelosi\u2019s drew all of about three people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their numbers were a little larger on Sunday, as KTVU reports on another Code Pink protest at Nancy Pelosi\u2019s house<\/a> calling for her to support a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. According to KTVU, “Organizers said about 100 people were expected,\u201d but KTVU and NBC Bay Area<\/a> both described the crowd as \u201cdozens of protesters,\u201d which is consistent with what\u2019s seen in video footage from both outlets. Though a KTVU correspondent added \u201cthis is probably the largest turnout they\u2019ve had\u201d at demonstrations outside Pelosi\u2019s home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s a mother, she\u2019s a grandmother, many of us are mothers here,\u201d Code Pink organizer Cynthia Papermaster told NBC Bay Area. \u201cI can barely sleep with what I\u2019m seeing going on there. And we\u2019re funding it. That\u2019s what\u2019s really tearing me up as much as anything. So she should stop the funding, stop the enabling of a genocide going on in front of our eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This protest was nowhere near the size of Saturday\u2019s downtown SF rally calling for a ceasefire<\/a>, which the Chronicle reports attracted thousands. And that rally came amidst the SF Board of Supervisors possibly considering a resolution calling for a ceasefire<\/a>, as has been done by Richmond City Council<\/a> and Oakland City Counci<\/a>l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That resolution is currently in the works from Supervisor Dean Preston\u2019s office, and the Chronicle reported Sunday<\/a> that the SF supervisors are \u201clikely to consider a resolution this week calling for a cease-fire and the release of all hostages.\u201d Though their meeting this week is tomorrow, Tuesday, December 5, and that item does not currently appear on Tuesday\u2019s meeting agenda<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
