{"id":32320,"date":"2024-03-14T12:35:36","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T19:35:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/occupysf.net\/?p=32320"},"modified":"2024-03-14T12:35:37","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T19:35:37","slug":"san-francisco-election-results-heres-what-you-voted-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/occupysf.net\/index.php\/2024\/03\/14\/san-francisco-election-results-heres-what-you-voted-for\/","title":{"rendered":"San Francisco Election Results: Here\u2019s what you voted for"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>March 13, 2024 (contact@indivisiblesf.org)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Votes are still being counted in the February\u2013March 5 election, but here\u2019s what we know so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>State Prop 1:&nbsp;<\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=8986bfea09&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">YES is very narrowly in the lead<\/a>, but with barely over 29,000 votes between yes and no, we still don\u2019t know for sure. Prop 1 would fund a $6.4 billion bond issue to build 10,000 in-patient and residential treatment beds in our state. A portion of this funding would also be set aside for permanent supportive housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In San Francisco,&nbsp;<\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=1379631736&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">every local proposition, except Prop B, passed.<\/a>&nbsp;Prop B promised to rapidly expand police spending upon the passage of a hypothetical future tax measure.&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=7f88740371&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">We did a deep dive on Prop B on our blog.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" height=\"353\" src=\"https:\/\/ecp.yusercontent.com\/mail?url=https%3A%2F%2Flh7-us.googleusercontent.com%2FVwpab1HGSUZanC0vDEj8EUSdLvmaTSdllmrX80IqVuWcHwz5o_4jcZ5IaBFDqLp9Gpy66ihOpxdHTyv7RWkrIW-guhl_gRzbsUVfWL4joMG0FBypg7JPecunR5PSiARnltUJ4Vl_bx87IS-eyHyIDCY&amp;t=1710444714&amp;ymreqid=d41d8cd9-8f00-b204-1c40-2d0fbe01a600&amp;sig=j4f1Z3Wsb75OPhWwNGmIdA--~D\" width=\"561\"><\/strong><br><em>Graphic taken from SF Public Press\u2019&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=a9fb4dc061&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">article on the results<\/a>&nbsp;of the election.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>President:&nbsp;<\/strong>As we expected, it\u2019s&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=7a8c07927e&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">Biden vs. Trump<\/a>. With nobody else credibly running for either nomination (and with the RNC, now co-chaired by Trump\u2019s daughter-in-law, having&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=dcdf6cac93&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">declared Trump the nominee<\/a>&nbsp;already), we now know for sure who our candidates will be on the fall general election ballot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How are you feeling about the results? One of the things that we found interesting was the turnout of this election. The turnout&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=357aaf2333&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">is about 42 percent in San Francisco<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=741f1ceecc&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">30 percent statewide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also took a look at the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&amp;id=25adeaef7d&amp;e=38c24e0aba\">ballot challenges<\/a>&nbsp;this election cycle and found that 2,453 ballots so far in San Francisco have been reported as returned or postmarked late. Those were mailed after March 5 or on March 5 but too late for pickup.
