The former president’s plan for the U.S. in 2025 is even more fascistic than the last time he was in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usually, American summer is defined by family barbecues, beach vacations, and \u2013 if you\u2019re like me \u2013 lots of ice cream. But this year, my summer won\u2019t be defined by any of those things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because after an RNC filled with people wearing cult-like ear bandages<\/a> and the Supreme Court bending the law<\/a> to rescue Donald Trump from his criminal cases, there\u2019s only one thing I can think about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The looming prospect of a second Trump term and what it would mean for American democracy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, the Democrats’ chances of winning are looking a bit less dismal since Joe Biden dropped out and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. But even then, the polls still tell us that it will be a tight race<\/a>, especially in the swing states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be fine, Mehdi! We survived Trump the first time \u2013 we can do it again,\u201d my fellow leftists and liberals often tell me, as if that\u2019s reassuring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reality is that as bad as Trump\u2019s first term was, his second term is guaranteed to be even more dangerous, extreme, and, yes, \u2013 fascistic. Don\u2019t believe me? Take a look at what his first few months in office could look like, according to the plans that he and his allies<\/em> have laid out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What might his first 100 days look like?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1<\/strong>: Donald J. Trump, with his hand on his own<\/a> $59.99 \u201cGod Bless the USA Bible\u201d is sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quadruple-indicted president makes his way back<\/em> to the Oval Office and begins to make America great again\u2026 again. How? Oh, how any great democratic leader would! By starting his own dictatorship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not my words. His: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe says, \u2018You\u2019re not going to be a dictator, are you?\u2019 I said: \u2018No, no, no, other than day one.\u2019 We\u2019re closing the border, and we\u2019re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that I\u2019m not a dictator.\u201d<\/em> – Donald Trump on Sean Hannity, Dec. 6<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Of course, Trump doesn\u2019t stop there, with the border closing and the drilling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our new self-proclaimed dictator ends birthright citizenship \u2013 a constitutional right \u2013 for some kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cAs part of my plan to secure the border, on day one of my new term in office, I will sign an executive order making clear to federal agencies that under the correct interpretation of the law, going forward, the future children of illegal aliens will not receive automatic U.S. citizenship.\u201d <\/em>– Donald Trump, May 30<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Of course, there are protests against Trump like there were in 2017. But don\u2019t worry, Trump has a plan for that too. In true dictator fashion, Trump invokes the Insurrection Act to put the military on the streets and violently crack down on anti-Trump protesters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump and his allies have begun mapping out specific plans for using the federal government to punish critics and opponents should he win a second term, with\u2026his associates drafting plans to potentially invoke the Insurrection Act on his first day in office to allow him to deploy the military against civil demonstrations.\u201d <\/em>– New York Times<\/em>, Nov. 6<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Day 2<\/strong>: Trump moves to pardon and release<\/a> the Jan. 6 insurrectionists serving time in prison for violently storming the U.S. Capitol four years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI will immediately reissue my 2020 executive order restoring the president\u2019s authority to remove rogue bureaucrats, and I will wield that power very aggressively.\u201d <\/em> – Donald Trump, March 19, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Day 7<\/strong>: Trump nominates his fellow conspiracy theorist, Gen. Michael Flynn, to be defense secretary. Yes, the Gen. Michael Flynn, who called for martial law in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 15<\/strong>: Trump instructs his brand-new attorney general, Mike Davis, to launch spurious investigations into Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Hilary Clinton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI will appoint a real special \u2018prosecutor\u2019 to go after the most corrupt president in the history of the USA, Joe Biden, the entire Biden crime family, and all others involved with the destruction of our elections, borders, and country itself!\u201d <\/em>– Donald Trump, June 12, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Day 21<\/strong>: Trump calls for Gen. Mark Milley\u2019s prosecution \u2013 and execution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
