For LeBron James<\/a>, \u201cthe choice is clear\u201d about who to vote for president. On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers player officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> as he shared a video compilation of the hate and racism spread by former President Donald Trump and his campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat are we even talking about here?\u201d James captioned alongside the clip, which included headlines of David Duke<\/a>, the former Ku Klux Klan leader, supporting Trump, along with the former president\u2019s racist rhetoric toward migrants and the Black community<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me,\u201d wrote James, who ended the post with: \u201cVOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video \u2014 shared to James\u2019 159 million Instagram followers and 53 million X followers \u2014 included clips of comedian Tony Hinchcliffe\u2019s racist speech<\/a> at Madison Square Garden about a Black friend \u201ccarving watermelons together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James has consistently endorsed Democratic presidential candidates dating back to Barack Obama\u2019s presidential runs in 2008 and 2012. He also endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and endorsed Joe Biden<\/a> in the 2020 election, writing, \u201cWe need EVERYTHING to change,\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The basketball star joins other NBA icons, including Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr and guard Stephen Curry, who have endorsed Harris for president. Both Curry and Kerr spoke at the Democratic National Convention<\/a> over the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dedicated Athletes for Harris <\/a>cohort has several big names, among them Mel Blount, Marv Levy, Willie Roaf, Magic Johnson, Billie Jean King, Ali Krieger, Candace Parker, Thomas Booker, and Chris Paul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have known Vice President Harris for over 25 years, and you can count on her to deliver on what she says she is going to do,\u201d Magic Johnson wrote in a statement<\/a> following her debate<\/a> against Trump. \u201cShe\u2019ll be a President for all people, no matter the race, language, sexual orientation, or party line.
