It has not even been a full month since Elon Musk was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sorry — Donald Trump! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has not even been a full month since Donald Trump<\/em> was inaugurated, but you wouldn\u2019t know the difference with the unfettered access Elon Musk has gotten to whatever sensitive government agency he desires. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the most recent turn of events, the acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration resigned<\/a> this weekend as Musk\u2019s lap dogs, DOGE, attempted to access the sensitive information of millions of Americans. The Trump-Musk administration is either firing or demanding the resignations of anyone in their way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scariest part: MAGA Republicans already hold a trifecta. They don\u2019t need to force their way into every government institution. They are doing this in spite of already holding all three branches of the government — strong-arming their way to unchecked power and executing a coup right in front of our eyes. If we let them succeed, we will have lost the very checks that are the foundations of our functional democracy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have to step up and stop them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The House of Representatives is currently in recess, and representatives are in their home districts to hear from constituents. That means that there\u2019s an opportunity in every congressional district across the country this week for Indivisibles to show our elected officials that we will not lay down for the Trump-Musk coup without a fight — <\/strong>It\u2019s Musk or Us!<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s how you can take part:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In person:We are prioritizing driving in-person events across the country. The best way to show our Members of Congress (MoCs) — and the world — that we mean business is by being highly visible in our opposition to this coup. Check our national map to see if there\u2019s an action near you this week!<\/strong><\/a> Bigger actions are great. If we can get everyone together at the same time, there\u2019s more potential for it to get the sort of coverage that will make it highly visible.Not seeing an event in your area? We need your help organizing one.<\/strong> Connect with your local Indivisible group or grab some friends, and check out our recess action toolkit with everything you need to plan your district action this week<\/strong><\/a> — then register it on our map<\/strong><\/a> so Indivisibles near you can join. And if your representative is hiding from the public or is already on our side, you can take the fight to Musk himself<\/strong><\/a> by organizing a Tesla Town Hall!<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Virtually:We understand that not everyone can make it to an in-person event. Whether it\u2019s too far, you can\u2019t quite make it out of the house, or your schedule doesn\u2019t match up, we want to make sure you have the opportunity to make an impact too.If you have a Republican representative, <\/strong>call and demand they answer for allowing Musk and Trump to push a budget<\/strong><\/a> that will slash lifesaving programs for the American people while lining the pockets of Musk and his billionaire friends. If you have a Democratic representative, <\/strong>call and make sure they are using every ounce of leverage<\/strong><\/a> they have to prevent the worst outcomes of a funding fight.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Recess ends this Sunday, so we need every Indivisible to make a plan to get loud this week and let their MoCs know this coup will not happen on our watch! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s been a lot of talk by \u201cbig important people\u201d about the resistance not showing up this time around. Talking heads asking whether we\u2019ve given in. Well, let\u2019s make a big show and let them know we\u2019re not going anywhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will fight for our friends. 
We will fight for our neighbors. 
We will fight for our families. 
We will fight for our democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
