What if we all took a new pledge?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For you. For me. For the people and for the country that deep down \u2014 in spite of its MAGA-heads, in spite of its insanity \u2014 we\u2019ve decided to fight for its survival, holding onto a belief that we can make it better, that we can fix it, that we can end the madness and create a <\/strong>true<\/strong><\/em> Democracy for which it stands.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve taken the liberty of writing one for us on this day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE\nTO THE PEOPLE<\/strong>\nOF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. \nAND TO THE DEMOCRACY<\/strong>\nFOR WHICH WE ALL STAND:\n\nONE PERSON, \nONE VOTE,<\/strong>\n\nONE NATION<\/strong>,\nPART OF ONE WORLD<\/strong>,\n\nEVERYONE!<\/strong> \nA SEAT AT THE TABLE!\nEVERYONE!<\/strong>\nA SLICE OF THE PIE!\n\nWITH LIBERTY \nAND JUSTICE,\n\nEQUALITY\nAND KINDNESS,\n\nAND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS\nFOR ALL.<\/strong>\"<\/em><\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
I would love to speak these words each morning with all of you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then \u2014 WE<\/strong> ACT!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
We do not have a minute to spare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Think of it this way: You would not skip a day without brushing your teeth. You would not skip a day without eating a meal (or three). You do not skip a day without checking your email. You don\u2019t skip a day without reading or watching some news or a True Crime special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What if you were to put even just one small individual political action on that everyday \u201cTo-Do\u201d list?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each day,<\/strong> something.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just one thing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our hearts do not go more than a second without creating a beat. Our lungs do not skip more than 3 seconds without taking a breath. Can we all, all of us, together, pledge to not skip a day right now without taking some simple sort of political action?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s easier than you think, my friends. Check out this video of average, everyday Kentuckians who last month all dressed up alike, printed some signs, and marched through Lexington effing Kentucky to warn people of the current fascist threat:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
