Congressman Ro Khanna<\/a> on Tuesday suggested Democratic voters who believe the party lacks \u201cprinciples,\u201d as a number of respondents said<\/a> in a new poll, have understandable questions about what Democrats stands for, as he denounced recent comments from several lawmakers who have attacked President Donald Trump<\/a> for not being hawkish enough when it comes to the war he started in Iran.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople want a Democratic Party<\/a> that\u2019s going to stand for things, that stands as the party that\u2019s anti-war,\u201d Khanna told Chris Hayes<\/a> on MS NOW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd we should be the party that says, \u2018Donald Trump<\/a>, end this war, we\u2019re going to support the negotiation\u2019\u2014and then we\u2019re going to not get into these wars in the future,\u201d he added.

Khanna accused his colleagues of sending the message: \u201cDonald Trump, go blow up more things! Why aren\u2019t you destroying more of Iran?\u201d

\u201cI\u2019m not one of those Democrats,\u201d said the congressman, who\u00a0introduced<\/a>\u00a0a war powers resolution with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) to stop Trump from launching unauthorized strikes against Iran. \u201cI\u2019m one of the people saying, \u2018Yes, let\u2019s get a negotiated settlement. Let\u2019s work toward ending this war.\u2019\u201d

\u201cThe Democrats should be for ending this war and be against more of these foreign interventions,\u201d said Khanna. \u201cThe last thing we want is to goad\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0into getting us into more conflict there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
