Two days after a federal immigration<\/a> agent fatally shot 26-year-old Johan Sebasti\u00e1n Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine<\/a>, the state\u2019s Republican senator, who voted earlier this year to fund US Immigration and Customs Enforcement<\/a> without requiring reforms, refused to say she regrets the vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prem Thakker of Zeteo News approached Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins<\/a> at the Capitol on Wednesday with a polite but direct question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHi senator, how are you?\u201d Thakker began. \u201cI was wondering, do you regret giving ICE more money, given the killings, including the one in your state?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collins, who was waiting for an elevator with an aide, did not reply, while her staffer asked what outlet Thakker was with before saying the senator had to leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Collins approached the elevator, Thakker repeated the question: \u201cNo regrets?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
