Commissioned by the\u00a0<a title=\"Communist League\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Communist_League\">Communist League<\/a>\u00a0and originally published in London (in German as\u00a0<i>Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei<\/i>) just as the\u00a0<a title=\"Revolutions of 1848\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Revolutions_of_1848\">revolutions of 1848<\/a>\u00a0began to erupt, the\u00a0<i>Manifesto<\/i>was later recognised as one of the world&#8217;s most influential political documents. It presents an analytical approach to the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Class struggle\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Class_struggle\">class struggle<\/a>\u00a0(historical and then-present) and the conflicts of capitalism and the capitalist mode of production, rather than a prediction of communism&#8217;s potential future forms.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Communist Manifesto<\/i>\u00a0summarises Marx and Engels&#8217; theories concerning the nature of society and politics, that in their own words, &#8220;The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles&#8221;. It also briefly features their ideas for how the\u00a0<a title=\"Capitalism\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Capitalism\">capitalist<\/a>\u00a0society of the time would eventually be replaced by\u00a0<a title=\"Socialist mode of production\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Socialist_mode_of_production\">socialism<\/a>.
