San Francisco prides itself on being a sanctuary city that protects the most vulnerable among us from attacks by forces beyond our control to remove us from the city we call home. But a sanctuary must do more than protect us against unjust immigration holds. Immigrant and African-American families, the elderly and people with disabilities need protection from market forces that have just as surely displaced residents from the city. That is why the community is coming together to call for a $35 million Sanctuary Housing Fund to give us an opportunity to stay. Join us as we call for the following:
*Funds for a Community Opportunity to Purchase for homeowners struggling to pay unjust mortgages to get help buying back their loans.
*Rental subsidies for tenants paying outrageous rents, struggling to stay in their homes, or to find safe, affordable housing.
*Full-service legal defense from start to finish for tenants and homeowners facing potential eviction.
