It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sending this..
Thank you to all who signed petitions, sent letters and have called to halt Federal Executions.
I don’t know if Corey Johnson and Dustin Higgs cases are before the Supreme Court. Yesterday the Trump administration appealed a lower courts ruling to ‘stay’ their execution until March. Both men have Covid.
Lisa Montgomery was executed on January 13th, after the last ‘stay of execution’ expired. The Supreme Court voted 9-3 to vacate the stay. Justice Breyer,
Justice Sotomayor, & Justice Kagan were the only Chief Justices that voted to uphold the “stay of execution”. The Trump administration pushed to execute Lisa.

At 11:09p tonight, the DC Circuit, in a 2-1 decision lifted the district court stays of execution for Corey Johnson and Dustin Higgs. Any en banc request is due by 9a Thursday.
