SB 770, a bill that threatens to delay CalCare and that would waste millions of taxpayer dollars, just passed a vote last week in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
Now, it’s advancing to a vote in the full State Assembly between now and September 14, which gives us just days to block it.
This is our LAST CHANCE to stop SB 770 from becoming a reality and threatening to delay passing CalCare, which is the only bill that would achieve guaranteed health care for all in the state of California through a single-payer system.

Please take a moment to call your Assemblymember and urge them to vote NO on SB 770, then call Governor Newsom and ask him to veto SB 770 if it passes the Assembly and reaches his desk. Don’t worry, we have a sample script to make this call as quick and easy as possible!
If passed, SB 770 would establish a “working group” to have informal conversations with the federal government on single payer — but we don’t need more studies or working groups. We have the answers we need. We need our elected leaders to take action on CalCare NOW.
