“Over 300 Jews and allies are peacefully calling for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, and have shut down all California State legislative proceedings, demanding that CA end its support for Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. No business as usual on the first day of Session while CA tax dollars fund Israel’s siege on Gaza and ongoing apartheid.

California provides more tax dollars towards federal military aid than any other state. Rather than being used for healthcare, housing, schools, or green energy, this money goes to killing thousands of Palestinians. The death toll has passed 30,000 and continues to rise, and our leaders are doing nothing to stop it.

California Jews say #NotInOurName. Stop weaponizing Jewish safety to fund the genocide of Palestinians.

66% of American voters want ceasefire. Why aren’t our California elected officials listening to our demands? Their constituents are calling on them to urge Congress now to support an immediate and lasting ceasefire and stop the supply of U.S. funds/weapons that are murdering Palestinians.

Jews in California stand in solidarity with people around the country in calling on leaders to immediately do everything we can to stop this genocide today.

Both the CA state assembly chambers and the main rotunda are completely filled with somber song and ritual calling for an end to the killing. The legislative process has been shut down until California legislators stand up for a lasting ceasefire.”
