Progressive Town Hall: August 24, 2025 with guests Jackson Potter, Selina Vickers, and Hartzell Gray

Progressive Democrats of America Aug 25, 2025 We have three great guests joining us this Sunday: Jackson Potter, Vice President of the Chicago Teachers Union; Selina Vickers, DNC Member from West Virginia; and Hartzell Gray, Congressional Candidate from Metro Kansas City, MO. Jackson Potter will be joining us to talk about the next big national mobilization against the Trump administration from the coalition that brought millions of Americans into the streets during the No Kings and Hands Off demonstrations. Only this time, labor unions are taking the lead in the Workers over Billionaires demonstrations taking place across the country on Labor Day, September 1st. PDA is a proud co-sponsor of the Workers over Billionaires. Jackson will clue us in to the myriad ways that the Trump administration is attacking organized labor, and how unions are fighting back – and, perhaps most importantly, how PDA can join with the union movement to build a victorious progressive movement in the coming months and years. Then, Selina Vickers, one of the great progressive members of the DNC. who has long recommended a series of reforms to democratize the Democratic Party, will tell us about the numerous progressive resolutions and rule changes that will be voted on at the annual DNC meeting in Minneapolis next week. These reforms include resolutions calling for the end of U.S. military sales to Israel, and the end of big money dominating Democratic Party primaries – as well as significant bylaws and rule changes that PDA has long supported, and that will help democratize the Party. Batting third is the great Hartzell Gray, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, who will report on Republican efforts to gerrymander his district (and American democracy) out of existence – and, how, we’re going to beat them one way or another! Join us this Sunday as we defend democracy and build a better America in the process. In solidarity, Alan Minsky for the PDA National Team
