We stand at a turning point in this nation’s moral clarity and political journey.

On Friday, July 11 at 5:30 PM PT / 8:30 PM ET, I am inviting you to join us for a national gathering, a call to conscience, a call to action, and a celebration of a stand led by national leaders, organizers, workers, and freedom fighters across this country.

In the face of racial backlash, late-stage capitalism, and attempts to dismantle every ounce of progress we’ve fought and bled for, our Target Boycott has emerged as one of the most powerful Black-led economic protests in modern history. The Target Boycott was a blow not just to corporate greed, but to a system that profits from the exploitation and erasure of Black people, and by extension, all marginalized communities.

In early 2025, Target quietly dismantled its DEI infrastructure, eliminating its $2 billion REACH investment, dissolving equity leadership, and scrubbing inclusive language from its stores. Under pressure from the Trump administration the company ended the “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” program betraying the very communities they once pledged to serve.

We Are Somebody responded with moral clarity and conviction, being the first organization to call for a national boycott of Target. The Target Boycott resulted in declining foot traffic in stores and billions in market value loss.

On July 11, we will uplift the bold vision behind the Target Boycott, the Freedom Budget for All Americans. We will ask you to organize, to volunteer and if you can, to make a contribution to allow us to continue the work we do.

All that we love is on the line, we must live up to the moment.

Keep the faith and keep the fight,
Nina Turner
