ELLEN BROWN

Internationally-renowned Public Banking expert and author, Ellen Brown, has been a speaker at two previous Praxis Peace Institute conferences (Sonoma, 2009 and San Francisco, 2014). It was at the  2009 conference in Sonoma — over lunch at the Sunflower Cafe — that Ellen Brown and Marc Armstrong met and began the process of setting up the Public Banking Institute.

Ellen Brown developed her research skills as an attorney practicing civil litigation in Los Angeles. In her best-selling book, Web of Debt, she turned those skills to an analysis of the Federal Reserve and “the money trust,” showing how this private cartel has usurped the power to create money from the people and how we can get it back. She also explores the history of banking and finance in a way that captivates her readers. In The Public Bank Solution, she writes about contemporary public banking systems.

Ellen has presented at numerous conference in the U.S. and abroad. She has appeared on many TV and radio shows and penned Op-Eds for the NY Times and other publications. She is a brilliant and thorough researcher and has put the pieces of money, finance, and debt together in a unique and comprehensive manner, one that plumbs the depths of our modern economic systems and offers examples of better models.
