Free Palestine Camp ended after an agreement was made.
Shortly after that, some students took over an abandoned house owned by the university.

For Saturday 5/18 & Sunday 5/19
Saturday, May 18
1. Saturday, 10:00am (PT); 1:00pm (ET), Update from the West Bank: Where is the Palestinian Gandhi?
Online registration: Update from the West Bank: Where is the Palestinian Gandhi? (everyaction.com)
Since Oct. 7, we have been mostly focused on the Israeli assault on Gaza, unable to look away from the bombing, displacement and starvation of the Gazan Palestinians. At the same time, the oppression and violence against Palestinians living in the West Bank has escalated. In the past 6 months, 7000 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank, including 440 children, and over 1500 Palestinians have been displaced from Area C. (source: WAFA News agency and Reliefweb). At least 317 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli security forces and settlers in the West Bank since the Gaza attack began, according to the Palestine Authority Health Ministry.
Our speaker will be Issa Amro, well-known Palestinian activist, who was highlighted in the May 1 NY Times rhetorically asking if Issa is the new “Palestinian Gandhi”. Working with B’tselem, the Israeli human rights organization, Issa coordinated the “Shooting Back” camera project in Hebron, which distributed cameras to Palestinians so they could document human rights violations by Israeli soldiers and settlers. In 2009 he won the One World Media award for that project. He also founded the organization “Youth Against Settlements”, whose mission is to promote the use of nonviolent resistance against the Israeli Occupation. He endures ongoing harassment by Israeli soldiers and settlers and has been arrested over 100 times. Issa will talk about the repression and harassment of Palestinians in the West Bank and how that has been exacerbated since Oct. 7.

2. Saturday, 2:00pm – 4:00pm, STOP THE NAKBA – All Out for Gaza
Meet at:
Harry Bridges Plaza (Embarcadero Plaza)
Across from the Ferry Building
SF
As Israel’s genocidal assault on Rafah escalates, join in solidarity with millions of Palestinians around the world who are rising to demand an END to the 76 year-long Nakba. Join us to demand an END to Israel’s war on Gaza. Demand an END to US complicity in Israel’s occupation, ethnic cleansing, and war crimes against the Palestinian people.
May of each year commemorates the anniversary of the Nakba, in which over 800,000 Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their homelands by Zionist terrorists and settlers. The Nakba continues to this day. We are also over 220 days into Israel’s barbaric assault on Gaza, where they intend to ethnically cleanse over 2 million Palestinians living there. And the US government has backed the 76-year long Nakba, and the genocide in Gaza with weapons, lies, and political support
We refuse to allow our government to continue to be complicit in these crimes against Palestinians and against humanity. People around the world are rising to demand their schools, communities, and governments divest from Israel. Working people are refusing to allow their labor to supply and resource the occupation of Palestine. Israel is a rogue state, whose backers in the US government are more isolated than ever. The tide is turning and we will see a FREE PALESTINE within our lifetime.
